A mid to late 19th century brass compass binnacle with acorn finial on top, side mounted illumination lantern with an early fluted style chimney. ( oil burner missing ) Mounting flange at base.
Brass compass bowl mounted on gimbals and containing a dry card compass marked JAMES MURRAY, CALCUTTA & LONDON.
